Project REDU-CE-D

The REDU-CE-D project "Customized Environmental Management System - EMS to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy consumption of different transport modes in Central Europe," aims to enhance energy efficiency across various transportation sectors in Central Europe. This project addresses the requirements of the EU's Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), which mandates member states to achieve specific energy efficiency targets.

The aim of the project is therefore to increase energy efficiency of different modes of transportation in CE by transposing the EED into different transportation sectors (air transport, urban transport, waterway transport and rail transport) through the test, development and dissemination of customized Environmental Management System - EMS based on EU requirements and a jointly defined strategy.

The project with duration of 36 months (01 May 2024 – 01 May 2027) and a total budget of 2,296,700.00 eur (ERDF funds 80% or 1.837.360 eur) gathers together partners from 6 different countries motivated to work together. The budget of the Dubrovnik Airport in the project is 344.600 eur.

The consortium of 10 partners is led by Dubrovnik Airport Ltd (Croatia):

•    Dubrovnik Airport Ltd
•    Budapest Airport
•    Municipality of Krakow (Krakow Transport Authority)
•    BKK Centre for Budapest Transport
•    University of Maribor
•    Adriafer s.r.I
•    Ecco – rail Gmbh
•    Freeport of Budapest Logistics Ltd
•    Port of Ploče Authority
•    Romagna Tech

Project has following specific objectives:

•    Define a common strategy based on the existing solutions and best practices in energy transition and matching them with the needs of the different transport modes, with the support of key stakeholders and experts.
•    Development and testing of customised EMS support packages to guide the transportation companies/service providers in implementation of Environmental Management Systems.
•    Finalise, spread and exploit the developed solution by raising awareness and training activity on the REDU-CE-D EMS support package and allowing other organisations and authorities to adopt them.
